Once active, your ignition will turn over, but throttle response is completely negated - the idea being that your engine idling but remaining unresponsive is enough to deter thieves should they gain access to your keys. This also renders key cloning & scanning devices useless, as these are specifically aimed at cracking your vehicle's security measures & not the Unichip.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR WHEN INSTALLING:
All of our Unichip Plug and Play kits are designed to be as simple and as easy as possible to install. However each vehicle vehicle presents its own challenge. On the Focus ST there is a plug for the crank position sensor. Please note that the installation requires the vehicle to be safely raised off the ground to allow the removal of the engine undertray. This is necessary to access the crank position sensor required for the tuning module. We recommend using appropriate jack stands or a vehicle lift to ensure safe working conditions.
It is important to note that unless all of the plugs on the Unichip harness are fully securely connected as per the wiring instructions, the Unichip will not operate which will prevent the vehicle from starting.

Will I need to purchase a Map Switch, too?
If you're purchasing a "Premium" or "Ultimate" Kit, then yes, you'll need to purchase a Map Switch in order to access our pre-programmed maps. If you're purchasing a "Standard" Kit, you will not need a map switch, as they're programmed to hold just one tuning file. Refer to the product listing's title if you're unsure.

How are your tuning kits different from chip tuning boxes or remaps?
Chip tuning boxes share only a few similarities with the Unichip Module. They'll typically alter just injection timing or injection pressure. The Unichip gives a reputable tuner a myriad of different parameters to manipulate, creating a far superior tune, a much better spirited drive, all while ensure there's 0 risk to your engine's mechanical components. A remap will physically alter / overwrite your existing ECU file. Done correctly, and you'll have access to one map with more power. Done incorrectly, and you risk damaging your engine's mechanical components. These changes are semi-permanent; if your remap is bad, you'll have to take your car back to the manufacturer to gain access back to the existing file, for a hefty price.
Is this product safe for my vehicle's engine?

Will this product leave any trace on my engine?

Is this product easily removable should I wish to?
Yes. Simply unplug and remove the kit from your engine bay / ECU location, plug in your vehicle's stock ECU wiring loom, and it's like we were never there.
How long do your Plug and Play kits take to install?
As a rule of thumb, the majority of our kits take 30 - 45 minutes to install. Most vehicle ECU's are relatively easy to locate. However, some are located underneath / behind the glovebox. If this is the case, we'll provide instructions on how to easily remove the trim with generic tools.
What are your Exchange / Returns / Shipping Policies?
If you're not completely satisfied with your product, you've got 30 days to send it back to us to receive a refund. The bespoke nature of our plug and play kits implies that exchanges aren't applicable. Please ensure that you've correctly identified your engine code and checked your existing ECU connections / ports and cross - reference them to our images provided. There will be a handling fee for any incorrect purchases. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you're unsure; our small workshop team have all been part of the development process, and know these vehicles inside out! There is a shipping fee incurred with all of our products, which will depend on your location. You may find out how much this is during the checkout process (don't worry - it's before you submit your order!). Does this product come with a warranty?
The Unichip Module itself comes with a 5 year warranty. The quality of the build and the nature of the product means that only 1/400 Unichip Modules are faulty, as pre-determined by Unichip HQ in South Africa. Currently, there is no warranty waiver for the Unichip wiring harnesses. However, we can assure you that every harness is tested and quality checked for any faults before the product is shipped.
